Expert Pet Wellness Care,Serving Plymouth, MN and the Surrounding Areas

Wellness visits are all about keeping your furry family member happy, healthy, and thriving for years to come. At Northwest Animal Hospital, continuity of care is key. Our highly trained veterinarians get to know each dog or cat’s personality, preferences, and health history, so every visit builds on the last.

What to Expect

For adult dogs and cats (ages 1 to 7), we recommend, at minimum, an annual wellness exam to maintain their peak health. We also offer specialized care plans tailored specifically for new puppies and kittens as well as senior pets.

Annual Bloodwork & Early Detection
A full panel each year allows us to track subtle changes over time, so we can catch issues early and identify trends across multiple years.

Vaccines & Parasite Prevention
We follow the “gold standard” AAHA guidelines, separating vaccines into core and non-core categories to provide your pet with exactly what they need.

Senior Care & Pain Management

Pets over seven years old benefit from twice-yearly exams, which help us catch and manage age-related conditions early. For pets with osteoarthritis or other chronic pain conditions, we offer a range of management options to keep them comfortable and active.

Microchipping

We recommend microchipping pets early, ideally when they join your family. Our advanced microchips do more than just help reunite lost pets—they also allow body temperature monitoring without a rectal thermometer. It’s a modern, easy way to keep an extra eye on your pet’s health and wellbeing.

Pets Who Love to Visit

Every pet has their quirks, and we keep notes on what makes each one feel at home—whether it’s a favorite treat, a standing nail trim, or extra head pats. All our team members are trained in Fear-Free handling techniques, and we use gentle, positive reinforcement that often goes unnoticed. The result? Dogs practically drag their humans into the building! We hear it all the time: “My dog was so excited to come today!”

Making visits enjoyable isn’t just a goal—it’s our specialty.
